We would like to draw the attention of all veterinary surgeons involved in caring for the health, wellbeing and welfare of pigs, irrespective of the size of the enterprise, to a series of regional Salmonella Control Workshops sponsored by BPEX and Animal Health
Veterinary Laboratories Agency (AHVLA) being held in early November this year.
The dates and venues are as follows:
Tuesday 8th November: Tickton Grange Hotel, Tickton, Beverley, E.Yorks
Wednesday 9th November: Lyncombe Lodge Hotel, Churchill, Somerset.
Thursday 10th November: Marriot Sprowston Manor, Norwich, Norfolk.
The agenda will be identical for all three meetings, with keynote speakers from industry, private practice, Defra and AHVLA, with the aim of covering the major issues around Salmonella control in pigs in the run up to the National Control Programme(NCP) for Salmonella in pigs.
The meetings will commence with lunch and there will be short series of informative presentations followed by a workshop and open discussion of the relevant issues.
Invitations giving more details of the speakers and format of the meetings will be circulated to veterinary practices, together with the first of a series of AHVLA/BPEX information leaflets on Salmonella control in pigs, within the next three weeks.
